5 out of 5 stars Great for DOS operating system, but not for Windows!   June 23, 2005

Before Windows 3.1, there was only the DOS operating system on IBM PCs. If you or your school or your organization are limited to DOS on old computers, this book is the best for teaching new operators about how to enter command lines and find their ways around. I used this book to teach myself DOS: the book was so helpful that I still resent the person who borrowed it then moved away without returning it (and here I am with no DOS in sight).

PLEASE NOTE. The book will NOT help with command prompt windows on computers with Win9x or XP operating systems! For those, scour the Internet for clues or look into the books for Dummies series.
