Excellent book! November 13, 2008 I highly recommend this book. It is extremely practical, it gives excellent real life examples and provides a great set of tools to work though conflict. It is well written and easy to read in bite size portions.
Buy it! November 11, 2008 Don't be distracted by the cheesy cover. If more poeple on the planet read this book (or others like "The Anger Trap") the world would be a better place. If you are reading this then the thought of conflict or fear has crossed your mind so you should buy this book.
If you are of the mindset "perhaps I don't really need this, I don't really have a problem" then you should read it anyway as it's not just a book for people with chronic problems from their childhood.
You can learn a lot about others too reading this book, perhaps you are dealing a lot with others who have conflict issues (over aggressives in the work place perhaps) then this will be helpful too you.
Feel free to skip to the chapters that interest you most but I think that after a reading a few you will realise that you want to read the whole thing. It's entertaining and relaxing to read at the same time as being informative
too much fluff January 12, 2008 I did not care for this book. I was hoping for substantive concepts based on research and facts. It has too much fluff and ideas that work only when the sun is shining. Survivor Personality has more useful concepts than this book.
Excellent tips for effective conflict resolution March 28, 2007 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
This book has changed the way I deal with conflict. It has helped me to improve my relationships and management skills by expressing what I want clearly and resolve issues quickly and effectively.
I would suggest this book to you if you feel that others are taking advantage of you being too soft or passive.
Awesome Management Tool November 3, 2006 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
Everyone, especially those in management, should read this book. We all deal with conflict and learning these few simple "no-brainer" tips will make it less stressful. It's not enough to know what you are talking about...you need to know who you are talking to.
