5 out of 5 stars THE source for answers   April 24, 2008
If you have questions about the Peace Corps, this is your answer. After combing the internet and all the libraries around me for answers to specific questions, (can I visit the states while overseas, how far apart do volunteers typically live from one another, what kind of supervision/support are you given, etc.) I've yet to find anything that even comes close to the clearness and completeness found here. This book answered so many questions I wish I'd thought to ask.

5 out of 5 stars Only book you should read in prepartion.   February 11, 2008
When people ask me if they should join the Peace Corps, I tell them first to read this book, then ask me any remaining questions they have. This is the first, last, and only Peace Corps info book I recommend. Most of the Peace Corps travel books are from the 60's, or tell romantic somewhat stylized stories. They don't do what you really need them to do, answer your practical questions. This book does.

4 out of 5 stars Excellent overview of how it all works   September 15, 2007
This book was extremely helpful in evaluating whether the Peace Corps is for me. Definately a great read for anyone deciding to join.

5 out of 5 stars A wealth of information...   July 24, 2007
This book offered a lot of basic information on issues I would never have thought to ask about. I found it helped relieve many anxieties about applying to the Peace Corps.

This book is amazing. If you have any questions about joining the peace corp this book will answer alomst everything about the experience. From the application process down to returning to the US. I am glad that i bought this book because it answer alot of my questions, and also made me think about other ones that i had not thought of before. Now more than ever i know that i am prepard to join the peace corp and i am really glad that i bought this book. i would recommend it to anyone who is thinking about applying to the peace corp, or someone who is in the appplication process.
This book is just questions and answer which is great because although the author gives us his experience, that does not dominate the book, he answer questions that everyone has about the peace corp, using his experience and the experiences of other Return Peace Corp Volunteers. Like i said whether you are thinking about applying or you are in the middle of your application process you should read this book!
