Amazon.com Review Whether this is pregnancy number 1 or number 10, nothing makes it easier to connect with a growing baby than knowing exactly what magical development is happening every day. Filling the need for practical information, medical data, emotional and spiritual fuel, and even "pregnancy trivia," The Pregnancy Journal is easily one of the best books available for a woman or couple expecting a baby. The journal contains about half a page of information for each day from conception through delivery. Nutrition, how to avoid discomforts associated with pregnancy, childbirth customs in other cultures, and practical parenting tips are among the topics touched on. Many days in the journal have a great section called "Did You Know"; for example, from Day 49: "The baby's arms at this point are only as long as this printed 1." At the bottom of each page is a quote from a literary or historical figure; some are sentimental, some pithy, some humorous, all inspiring. The information and quotes seem to invite musings and speculation on the miracle unfolding inside the womb; there is some space for recording data and thoughts, but if you want to write more than just a few lines every few days, you might want to have a blank journal to accompany The Pregnancy Journal. The format of this book makes it much more manageable and inviting than most books on pregnancy, and the information is made even more accessible by the inclusion of a glossary/subject index in the back. Don't wait until the shower to give this excellent resource and thoughtful gift--moms-to-be will want to have it from the very beginning. --Katherine Ferguson

My favorite Pregnancy Book January 8, 2009 I absolutely love this book. It was given to me when I was pregnant and now I give it to all my friends the moment they tell me they are expecting. I was very interested in all of the information about the growth and development of my baby, the connections to mothering from other cultures, and my favorite part was recording my own data. I saved my journal in my daughter's hope chest and hope that one day she will see what an exciting experience I had during my pregnancy for her. I strongly recommend this as a gift to give to others or yourself!
Great book during your pregnancy December 15, 2008 I had this book when I was pregnant with my twins. As soon as I found out I was pregnant again, I wanted the exact same book for this baby. It has day by day progress of your baby which is fun to read. It also has weekly places to write down your mood, appetite, nausea, cravings, weight and belly size. It's a fun way to journal your pregnancy.
Love this book, but be careful November 28, 2008 I love this book. It has day by day development for Mommy and baby. It also has lots of places to right small notes about cravings, mood, weight, and your own thoughts. I received this for my first pregnancy and bought it myself for my second. Be careful when you buy that you be sure to get the "revised" version since it has more pages to write in details about planning your feelings about the pregnancy, hopes and dreams for you baby and extra pages for notes.
Excellent resource!!! November 13, 2008 I love this journal. It has excellent information everyday. It tells you what your baby is doing daily. I would recommend this to all moms-to-be.
Not really a journal September 19, 2008 i bought this book from a local bookstore and it was wrapped in plastic, so i didn't get to see what i was buying until i got it home. it has good information, but i wanted something that would let me write (like a journal should) about my feelings and put in pictures of ultrasounds. i'm keeping this b/c like i said it's good info but the title is misleading - it should The Pregnancy Book, not Journal.
