| Customer Reviews: WiFi Security made easy June 16, 2010 Pawan Jheeta (Toronto, Ontario) Coleman, Harkins and team have done it again. This is an excellent study guide that explains the essentials for understanding security in an 802.11 Enterprise or SOHO environment. All the fundamentals are clearly explained which ends up dispelling the myth that WiFi Security is a difficult concept.
This book is for anyone with an interest in wireless networks......from an experienced engineer, a new grad fresh out of university, and even to an amateur WiFi enthusiasts. This study guide is able to teach concepts in an easy to follow way, teaches non-vendor specific, and avoids confusing the reader by providing plenty of examples.
I've attended a couple of David Coleman's WiFi classes, and I do not know any other expert who can teach wireless the way that Coleman does. This book is essential for anyone that works with WiFi technologies.
Excellent guide to Wireless LAN security.... April 9, 2010 Stephen Newson (Atlanta, GA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
CWSP study guide is a must-read for any wireless professional working in the complex world of wireless Lan design, management and implementation of wireless applications. The authors have created a functional and detailed go-to reference book on a complex subject. Whilst the CWSP book is essential to individuals looking to obtain the CWSP certification; any wireless professional would benefit from having this book in their technical reference library.
I have the pleasure of working with Shawn Jackman and David Coleman for a number of years. Both bring a wealth of knowledge and - most importantly - real world experience to the table. I highly recommend this book for anyone responsible for managing, designing or troubleshooting wireless infrastructure.
You will not be disappointed by purchasing this book; CWSP study guide will become invaluable and dog-eared, in your day to day life as a wireless professional.
Another great addition to my wireless collection March 24, 2010 Glenn Rodrigues (Denver CO) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
David Coleman never ceases to get the point across.
As long as you are interested in wireless security, this book caters towards beginners in wireless security as well as the experts
I have attended David Coleman's CWSP class and have passed the exam on the first try. This book is a great refresher and I think it is a very good supplement for anyone pursuing their CWSP.
The book is well organized, easy to read and is up to date. Highly Recommended!
The New Wi-Fi Security Reference Book March 24, 2010 Devin Akin (Bremen, GA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
If you don't own it, buy it now. This is the new Wi-Fi security reference book. As the head of Wi-Fi training and certification for Aerohive Networks, I've put this book, as well as the new CWNA Study Guide by the same authors, into every instructor-led class student kit. Additionally, all technical employees at Aerohive will receive one of these books (as soon as they're finished reading the CWNA book). I know each of these authors/editors personally, and you won't find a more experienced bunch of Wi-Fi professionals. Wi-Fi administration and security is what they do...it's all they do. I think I bought the first 40 copies, and I plan on buying hundreds more. This is the one - just buy it.
