5 out of 5 stars Excelent reference   July 26, 2010
William F. Wiles (Eastlake, Ohio, US)
I have used Inside Out fer Vista as an excelent reference for several years so it was only natural to order Inside Out for 7 to have as a reference for Windows 7. The soft copy on CD makes it a great searchable reference on the computer.

5 out of 5 stars A Very Solidly-Written Book   June 12, 2010

Windows 7 Inside Out is very well-written. I've read a lot of non-fiction in my time, and I've found a lot of DIY and instructional books have confusing wording, leave out important details, and/or are poorly organized. I am very impressed with the thoroughness of this book. They frequently include allusions to other chapters and sections in the book ("...see Chapter 7, 'Adding Windows Live Programs and Services,' for details") as well as links to their website for third-party programs or information. This book includes easy-to-read information about expert-level things like registry editing and the functionality and form of anti-piracy checks.

5 out of 5 stars EXCELLENT REFERENCE FOR MS WINDOWS 7   May 31, 2010

As always, Ed Bott and his parners Carl Siechert and Craig Stinson have put out a fantastic reference book for people wanting to work easily with MS Windows 7. I recommend it wholeheartedly. It is easy to comprehend, and the graphics used to highlight the features of MS Windows are sufficient to understand. So, Ed, Craig and Carl keep up the good work.
