Not ANSI/EIA 748 Compliant December 8, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I really hate to take anything away from the author's hard work on, or potential gain from, this book; but, it can be demonstrated Microsoft's implementation of Earned Value (EV) does not comply with the ANSI/EIA 748 standard for Earned Value Management (EVM). This is especially significant for government contracts which require EVM. Microsoft Project is a great cost effective scheduling engine, but establishing an ANSI/EIA 748 compliant Earned Value Management System (EVMS) requires custom interfaces to share data between this scheduling engine application, a cost accounting system application, and an earned value calculator application.
Great Reference Tool November 3, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Finally someone has made sense of EVM with MS Project. This is a great reference aid and I highly recommend this as a must-have in your project management library.
