Phillips PMP text book January 26, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
With the exception of a single formula error I found this text to be invaluable. I memorized Table 3-1 on pages 106-7 as I found it to be a key matrix for the 9 knowledge Areas and 5 Processes. I also memorized the formula chart on Page 293. Mr. Phillips crowned his text with a CD complete with all pages of the text which greatly aided in the making of flash cards and special notes. I am now studying for the Project+ certification and have purchased his text book for that study. Thanks to you Mr. Phillips for a to-the-point learning aid.
P.S. The formula used by PMI for the PERT 3-point estimate: P+4M+O/6
Overview January 19, 2008 The sole weakness of this book is the PMP Exam Simulator. The exam simulator provides no references and no feedback as the questions are answered correctly or incorrectly.

Best PMP Study Book on the Market December 21, 2007 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
This study guide is very easy to read and it prepares you 100% for the PMP exam. Prior to reading this book, I was in the dark about all that I needed to know to pass the exam. After reading it, passing the exam seemed much more achievable and straightforward.
The practice exams at the end of the chapters give you instant feedback on how prepared you are.
After reading this book and taking the practice tests over and over, you can take your exam with confidence.
Great Study Guide! December 15, 2007 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
If you are studying for the PMP exam, you know how boring the PMBOK can be. This book covers all the same material, but it is a much easier read that includes exam tips, two-minute drills, key terms, and tons of sample questions (with answers and explanations). It also gives excellent tips for exam day. The CD includes many more questions and lays them out in the same format you will see come test day.
This book is a must have if your goal is to pass the exam. That is the goal of the book, and it delivers! I passed the exam on my first try, and I never even picked up the PMBOK, this was my only reference.
Excellent PMP Exam Prep Study Guide October 18, 2007 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
This book is the best PMP Exam Prep study guide I have found. It is packed with useful information, targeted directly at passing the PMP Certification exam. The practice exam questions are excellent, the explanation of the answers well written, and a reference to the PMBOK is included with each question. The book includes a CD with a full PMP exam (many similar books charge extra for this) and the ability to download a second exam for no additional charge. The book is much less expensive than others that offer not nearly as much. As a PMP certified project manager and instructor of PMP exam prep courses, I recommend it highly.
