Encyclopedia of PCs May 11, 2008 This is a great book. It contains significant information about PC development the last 30 years. Its structural form is similar of those in computer's science major textbook. So, if you are looking just for how you can fix your PC, just buy or order any PC magazine with $20 that deals with this stuff; it is much cheaper and practical. If you are looking for more intergraded appoach, which covers can fix a PC but also a full part descriptio as well up-to-date development, then this book is the right purchase for you. Besides, it will be outdated in a couple of years as this happens in all computer science books, however, its historical as well theoretical viewpoint make this book a good investment for your Library...
OK Book January 18, 2008 This is a decent reference book but you can google most of the info. In earlier editions it had server/pc/laptop info. Now they have separated that info out into three different books. I started with the 11th edition - I am now on the 17th edition. I will not get the next edition.
FOOD FOR THOUGHT !!! December 24, 2007 THIS BOOK IS WHAT I CALL THE COMPUTER BIBLE.IF YOU CANNOT FIND WHAT YOU ARE LOOKING FOR IN THIS BOOK,THEN IT DOES NOT EXIST. THIS BOOK IS VERY INFORMATIVE,AND CAN BE INTIMIDATING TO READ.SO WHAT I DID WAS TO BREAK IT DOWN INTO TWO CATEGORIES. (1)WHAT IS IMPORTANT TO ACCOMPLISH THE THINGS IAM DOING. AND(2)WHAT IS JUST GOOD READING, I LOVE THIS BOOK.
PRICELESS!!! December 15, 2007 My #1 PC Tool. I've learned SO MUCH from this incredible, gigantic reference text. If you can only have ONE PC repair book - this is it!
Building a PC November 1, 2007 The Book helps me very much in building a PC from scratch. This was my first time and the book kept me from having to call someone to help me when I ran into a problem.
