Handy guide for Kindle owners May 13, 2008 Not everyone will need or want this guide (the sample feature is a great tool here to review this guide and see if it's right for you), but despite what some are saying, the guide is not a necessary tool in the using the device, but it does contain hints and tips that aren't covered in the Kindle Guide included with the Kindle. It's a user's guide by a Kindle user, and all of us know that sometimes a product user can provide insight that the manufacturer doesn't.
"How to Use the Kindle for Email & Other Cool Tricks" is definitely worth a look.

Great starting point for Kindle owners May 13, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I received my Kindle for my birthday last month and enjoyed reading the NY Times and several books, but then I discovered this excerpt from "The Amazing Amazon Kindle" and it made it very clear to me that the Kindle was more than just a e-book reader. I have followed the easy-to-read instructions and set up my gmail account and started adding my own content (pictures, music & text files) to my Kindle.
Can't wait for the complete book to be published.

A Problem With Kindle And Amazon Reviews May 13, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
If you have to buy books on how to use a device...then it must be a fairly difficult device to use. I thought the Kindle was "user friendly" but obviously, I was wrong. Another note about most of the GLOWING reviews for this article is that they were obviously created by the author/friends. Anyone can create as many Amazon ID's as they wish and write reviews. You can't blame this guy though. I'd do the same thing if I wanted to relieve as many people as possible from their money.
It's worth every penny May 10, 2008 4 out of 6 found this review helpful
...and it's not even many pennies at that. I agreed with other reviewers that yes you could play with your Kindle and eventually find out how to use certain functions, but if you don't have a lot of time to fiddle with it why not have step by step instructions from someone who knows? I thought it was an extremely helpful article.
Having the recommendations for sites and links to visit for more info such as the KindleKorner users group available is also another nice feature. It is amazing how much one can do with the Kindle. The email function is so cool and handy, as one doesn't always have a WiFi hotspot available when traveling and a laptop is so much more cumbersome. The Kindle is so portable and easy to read - sending email is like texting on a cellphone what-with the small keyboard, but doable. I am still learning how to access other sites not just Googles, and have a lot to learn, but I appreciate Mr. Windwalkers help and all of the users input at the KindleKorner on Yahoo Groups. It's great to be able to share shortcuts and hints with other users.
