5 out of 5 stars Master piece for Apps DBA's   November 19, 2008
"Oracle Applications DBA Covers 11i and R12 by Joyjeet Banerjee:" is a Master piece for Apps DBA's

This book covers two most important EBS versions: 11i, the most widely used Apps version now and R12, the emerging technology which every DBA wants to know about. Both of these are covered in a single book, which adds a ton of value to it.

Its an excellent book for the beginners to start off with Oracle Apps. And the same time it covers advanced topics which will be helpful for the experts.

It talks about Installations, upgrades and all the day to day DBA activities making it a complete reference hand off book.

I am really impressed with the idea of the author to add screenshots for installations and upgrades which turns out to be very very helpful.

It's really worth pouring in a few bucks for such an excellent book.

It would have been nice to have 1 or 2 sample chapters on this book. It looks good, though. Ordered one for myself already.

5 out of 5 stars Anyone who wants know Oracle Apps in depth..   November 12, 2008
The best thing I like about this book is that the author has cover both the important releases of E Business Suite in one book and he has done an excellent job in covering the stuffs for both the releases parallely. If I want to know something that's there is in R12 and want to know what's the corresponding thing was there for 11i . I need not go back and check the manuals of 11i this book covers it and this is a remarkable feature which I am sure is going to help all the DBA's. Highly recommend this book to everyone.

5 out of 5 stars Good Work   November 5, 2008
Its a nice book covers everything about 11i and R12. The screenshots of unix sessions are really good.

This book will really help those who wants to know R12 and good part about this book is 11i and R12 is parallely compared

5 out of 5 stars Very handy and userfull book   October 31, 2008

I was completly new to Release 12 .
One of my friend suggested me to get this book and I fould this book extremly useful . The book contains a parallel discussion of 11i and R12 which is not found in any other book . All the file names of 11i have been changed in R12 and this book covers both of them .
The book part about the book is that it contains lot of screen shot and lots of the unix session, which make it like no brainer to understand :) pics always better aide in understanding.
This book is worth buying
