Amazon.com The latest addition to Microsoft Office for Mac OS is Entourage, a personal information manager that integrates electronic mail and Usenet news with your address book and calendar. Entourage 2001 for Macintosh: Visual QuickStart Guide shows how Entourage works, in a way that appeals to adherents of at least two styles of learning. The approach used in this book is unusual. Rather than presenting an entire sequenced procedure next to a single, large illustration, author Steve Schwartz intermingles steps with small illustrations that clarify what to do. For instance, when explaining how to open linked items, the procedure appears next to two separate screen shots. One shows which menu command to choose; the other shows the window you get as a result. Both illustrations are small, but large enough to add meaning to the text. Most users will probably choose to use this book as a reference by locating relevant coverage in the table of contents (which looks a lot like a list of tasks) or the index. Once you've located the page you want, it's easy to accomplish the immediate task and then flip back and forth for a few pages to find out about capabilities you might not have known about. --David Wall Topics covered: All of Entourage's user-level capabilities--including contact management, calendaring, electronic mail, newsgroups, notes, and linking.

Entourage For MacIntosh June 6, 2001 11 out of 13 found this review helpful
This is a comprehensive book that outlines the capabilities of Microsoft Entourage (an MS Office subcomponent) in an easy to understand and highly illustrated guide. Special emphisis has been placed on teaching the student how to master all of the power of Entourage from the email and newsgroup options, to linking and PDA interface. This book is a must for the beginner seeking to understand Entourage's increased capabilities over the old MS Outlook email program, as well as the expert seeking to maximize the power of Entourage and Office.
