a handy log book November 18, 2008 0 out of 5 found this review helpful
i've just bought my fourth year of this log book. the photos are so-so but the format is what i buy it for... makes it easy to keep track of my weekly/yearly mileage and any other info about weather or quality of run, etc.
Go Back November 17, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Just to make sure Marty Jerome hears it, I will join in the chorus: Go Back! There is no improvement with this edition. Every change was wrong. I have bought every issue since 1979 so I have a lot of issues to compare this one against. (Well, not really, since all the issues were the same, except 1981 - it had a blue cover). In addition to what others have said, here are a couple more:
1. The printing on each page is black and a dark blue. It used to be red. My black or blue pens were a nice contrast when writing on the red lines. Very easy to read. Not so against the black/blue.
2. This edition only gives the month on the right hand page. The old edition gave the month, day and date for each day you made an entry. I always have my calendar folded at the spiral. It is never open to both pages, only to the page I am writing on. Now when I open it, I have to check the right hand page to make sure I'm in the right month. For example a line will read "Saturday 21". It used to read "Saturday, November 21". Not a big deal, but definitely not an improvement.
It was nice that they cut $2 off the previous year's price though.

Great log book! October 28, 2008 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
This is my fourth year using Jerome's running log and it serves its purpose well: day-by-day recording with weekly summary in the back; record log for race performances; and great inspirational quotes each week along with a narrative written by Jerome to coincide with every new month of training. I also keep a record of telephone numbers for shoe companies, websites for marathons and vendors.
Old design was best!!! October 23, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Like many others, I was just about to order the 2009 version, but after reading reviews and seeing the changes made, it looks like I may have to go with another product to record my daily runs. I have used this runner's diary every year, going back to 2000, and it's always been tried and true. If the format is this different, I'm afraid I won't be a repeat customer for this one. I suggest they make an emergency change if they want sales to remain at the level they were. Please....leave the format as it was!!
