Very thorough! November 18, 2008 I thought this product was very thorough. It walks you through the steps in a fashion that allows you to try each lesson. I really got a lot out of this.
Logic Express 8 November 2, 2008 This book is perfect for anyone interested in learning the ropes of Logic Express 8.
Very Good - You need this book to use Logic fully September 28, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have been messing with computer recording for a few years now and just got a Mac and Logic. I used Cakewalk programs and FL Studio prior to getting Logic, but when I tried to use Logic without the book I was pretty lost. The book takes you through the steps to use all the main features of Logic and also explains basic recording techniques that I was not familiar with, but are the difference between an amatuer recording and a pro version. The section on mixing was very helpful and especially useful with songs on the DVD. I learned a lot. I only wish that along with the DVD came video showing you how to use the program. Reading each step and following along with the program takes a while, but really its the only way to learn since you have to push the buttons to hear what happens.
Thank you David Nahmani this is just what i needed September 23, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Well i got logic six months ago and have got the basics down. This book just makes you use it (logic8) more efficiently and teaches you how to build a track.I have only just started the book but can see the benefits of owning this book highly recommended.
Best Logic book, for both beginners and more advanced users September 7, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This book is REALLY great. Comes with a DVD with all the lesson projects, loops, etc. that you'll need. The great thing here is that you DO everything rather than just READ about how to do it. Everything happens on your computer in the exact way that the book describes it, as you're going along. I was quite experienced in the basic uses of Logic 8 when I got this book, and I had been a proficient user of Logic 7 before. But I followed the book from the beginning to end, and I learned SO MANY new things. I also really learned things that I kind of thought I knew but didn't really understand, I learned three and four different ways to do the same thing each step of the way, and going through the process allowed me to internalize all of the really useful key commands as I worked through the lessons. I am literally 100 times more proficient at just getting around in the program now -- it's becoming like an extension of my fingers.
Such an amazing, almost infinitely deep program -- ideal for literally ANY type of musician -- and this book is without a doubt the BEST one available, whether you are just starting out or you really want to polish your chops.
