Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
AutoCAD 2009 innovations include the introduction of the task-based ribbon which will soon dominate the computer software industry, a new menu browser, Quick tools (Properties, Drawings, Views), and the phenomenal View Cube and Steering Wheels which will make 3-dimensional creation as easy as 2D! The AutoCAD: One Step at a Time series is going into its 8th Edition with its 2009 books, and it continues to deliver the easiest, hands-on, step-by-step instructions available in CAD textbooks worldwide. And it's the only text that makes the author available to its readers via the internet!

Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Excellent approach   May 19, 2008

I tried a couple other autocad text books but found the easy-going style of this author to be unique. The text really is a one-step-at-a-time approach (as opposed to others who simply claimed to be) and the author knew when to laugh and when to slow down! He was also available by email when I ran into a problem - I doubt I'd have gotten that kind of support from others.
Best chapters: I really liked moving to color in Lessons 6 & 7, and grips in Lesson 12 were cool, but the house plan and piping plan we did between Lessons 13 and 21 really made me feel like I'd acomplished something. Then again, paper space in lessons 23 & 24 really brought it all home - how autocad is such a strong application.
All in all - 5 well-earned stars!
