Amazing personality although only part of his life January 1, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
This book is about one of the amazing and and known technology leader in the Silicon valley. As a Cupertino resident I was lured to this audio-CD to learn more about Steve with all the traits he has. I find this book stopped only in the middle of his life covers from his childhood until circa 2005 missing one big product, the iPHONE. Also, the book does not provide much about Apple inside, the apple-way.
Disappointing December 16, 2007 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
It's a shame that this book is the leading Steve Jobs biography right now. Jobs is obviously a fascinating character, but this book (as so many other reviewers have already posted here) is written in a very surface style. There's just very little depth, nuance, or detail to this portrait. It's the kind of book that's printed in a large font for a reason. The first half of the book doesn't tell you much more than Pirates of Silcon Valley, the campy tv movie about Jobs and Gates. I would say rent that and skip this.
Excellent book December 15, 2007 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
One of the best books I have read on the subject of Apple and it's co-founder Steve Jobs.
Why did Steve Jobs don't like this book? October 24, 2007 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
It's strange. This book seems inofensive to me. It's true that nobody has the vision to see reality as a whole. But this book shows a good point of view. I admire the work done by Steve in Apple since it's start. Nobody is perfect. This book is a ggod read. If the facts are true, only a few knows. It left me a good impression about Steve Jobs life. I think he told somewhere that he were in the right place in the right time and that is true.
Oooh The Things I Didn't Know! October 16, 2007 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
I've owned two ipods, my dad was the first person on our street with a Mac in the 80's and my best friend is pressuring me to buy a new Apple computer... oh yeah and I knew the names of the two Steve's of Apple... that was about the extent of my Apple knowledge prior to reading this book. However, I didn't need to know any more to be unable to put this book down until finished. The more I read about Steve Jobs, the more I wanted to know about him. My only distraction from being utterly entranced by this book was the same as with Disney War, so many names to keep track of! Nerd or not, if you want insight into one of the most influential leaders of our time - grab a copy.
