1 out of 5 stars The Last Lecture   August 27, 2008

Very disappointing, I'm not sure why people made such a big deal out of this...

5 out of 5 stars What's Important in Life   August 27, 2008
I have followed Randy Pausch since I first saw him on Good Morning America. His presentation on what's important in life was highlighted by his diagnosis of pancreatic cancer. The day I saw that he had died I ordered multiple copies of his book to send for graduation, Father's Day and birthday presents. I read it in about 3 sittings. Dr. Pausch reminds us all that we shouldn't abandon our childhood dreams but keep striving to achieve them all the way up to the end of our life. Read this and embrace each day you wake up.

5 out of 5 stars A Must Read for Living and Dying   August 27, 2008
This book is a must read for how to live your life to be ready to die. It's also an excellent book for the terminally ill on how to live until you die. Randy Pausch's family lost a great husband and father and the rest of us lost a beacon on how to live. Have a box of tissues or your handkerchief ready, though. What an emotional read!

5 out of 5 stars Unforgettable   August 27, 2008
You cannot help but be inspired by this wonderful book. Randy Pausch's life and words have you evaluating your own life, and you very quickly realize that the trivial problems in your life are pretty much just that, trivial. You see that what you must concentrate your energies on are the people you love and the things you love doing. Besides his own children, this book is the best possible legacy that Randy Pausch could have left us.

5 out of 5 stars A man I would have liked to known   August 27, 2008
I WAS HALF WAY THROUGH THE BOOK WHEN I HEARD ON THE RADIO OR TELEVISION THAT RANDY HAD DIED. I WAS SADDEN AND IT TOOK ALMOST TWO WEEKS FOR ME TO PICK UP THE BOOK AGAIN. BUT I DID. THE BOOK IS VERY UPLIFTING AND MOTIVATING. IT IS ALSO A BLUE PRINT FOR HOW TO LIVE YOUR LIFE: emotionally and morally. I WISH I HAD THIS BOOK WHEN I WAS A TEENAGER FOR I AM CERTAIN IT WOULD HAVE BEEN A POSITIVE FORCE IN MY LIFE AND I WOULD HAVE GOTTEN MORE OUT OF MY EDUCATION AND RELATIONSHIPS. THAT SAID, IT DID BRING TEARS TO MY EYES IN THE LAST TWO CHAPTERS. WHY I DID NOT OUTRIGHT BAWL WAS BEYOND ME. MAYBE I WANTED TO STAY ALERT WHILE I WATCHED "THE LAST LECTURE".
